Job Description:

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two -year community/technical college that offers more than 75 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor's degree. HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway and Georgetown.

The Allied Health Sciences Division at Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking applicants for an Associate Professor, Patient Care. The Patient Care Medical Assistant program prepares students with the necessary skills to function as high quality, entry-level patient care medical assistants in a variety of healthcare settings. The instructor will be responsible for assisting the program director with development of course content, as well as teaching didactically, in lab, and clinical settings.

Candidates should possess working knowledge of Patient Care Medical Assistant certifications that include Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, and EKG Technician. The candidate should be familiar with ethical obligations, OSHA and HIPAA regulations as they pertain to patient care. Strong clinical medical assisting skills are required. Candidate will work closely with students and other faculty. Strong teamwork, collaboration, and effective interpersonal skills are required. The teaching load is 20-24 credit hours per semester. Candidate will be expected to work on all Horry-Georgetown Technical College campuses.

Advertised Salary:

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing and two year work related experience, demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher with teaching experience.
