Job description

As the home for USC Trojans football since 1923, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum also plays host to concerts, international soccer matches, food festivals, and numerous other events. The Coliseum just completed a $315 million-dollar renovation that will usher in a new era of service as we continue to strive to be "The Greatest Stadium in the World."

We are seeking a Plumber (Resource Employee) to join our rapidly growing team.

The Opportunity:

Our Plumber (Resource Employee) performs standard plumbing procedures. Determines need to repair and/or replace equipment. Estimates materials required for specific job components. Participates in the Plumber Pay for Knowledge and Skills Program including on-the-job training. Performs all appropriate module tasks and demonstrates proficiency as outlined in the Plumber Pay for Skills section,independently or as part of a team, as assigned by the supervisor. Trains journeymen and other employees specific skills and tasks as required..

The Accountabilities:

  • Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing system and equipment utilizing a variety of plumbing tools and equipment. Works from blueprints, specifications, and schematic diagrams.

  • Makes repairs and/or determines replacement of equipment.

  • Plans, coordinates, schedules, and/or modifies plumbing installations.

  • Maintains clean job site throughout duration and cleans up job site following work completion. Maintains safe working conditions for self and others. Stores and maintains supplies, tools and equipment.

  • Trains other journeymen, Zone Maintenance Technicians, or other employees specific skills and tasks, as required.

  • Prepares reports and/or maintenance records as needed.

  • Responds to on-call emergencies.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

The Qualifiers:

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of four year apprenticeship program

  • Minimum Experience: Two years

  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Four years experience as a trade-related trainee may substitute for completion of a four year apprenticeship program. Additional two years minimum experience must be as a journeyman. Experience performing standard trade-related procedures. General knowledge of trade related methods, materials, tools, and equipment. Familiar with city and state building codes, OSHA rules and regulations, standard safety practices and equipment. and other requirements for workplace safety.

  • In addition, the successful candidate must also demonstrate, through ideas, words and actions, a strong commitment to USC's Unifying Values.

The hourly rate for this position is $31.00 When determining an offer, the University of Southern California considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education, training, key skills, internal peer alignment, applicable laws, contractual requirements, grant funding, and market conditions.
