We're currently seeking a Membership Manager to support our Club team. Our ideal candidate is flexible, impeccably mannered, an effective collaborator, loves challenges, and is a true diplomat, with a genuine love of service and passion for meeting new people.
Reporting to the Director of Membership & Club Events, the Membership Manager will support The Club at Pier 66 with the goal of generating new memberships and supporting new and existing members, delivering an exceptional member experience.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supporting the Director with the full membership sales process including ongoing prospective member targeting, daily out-reach, presentations, site-visits, invitations and formal membership processing, answering inquiries, entering information into CRM system, and updating membership documents and record keeping.
  • This role will require a high level of detail and discretion in all matters regarding the Club.
  • Promptly responds and effectively addresses phone calls and emails from prospective and current members.
  • Prepares and processes new member documentation to ensure member files are complete.
  • Creates and maintains accurate membership files.
  • Addresses questions and concerns from prospective and existing members. Visit all club and resort areas to check in with members, report back on any issues & follow up.
  • Assist with conducting new member orientations and onboarding.
  • Prepares, updates and provides various reports as necessary as well as runs various monthly reports.
  • Assists with special projects and Club events, including planning and attending functions, as needed.
  • Uses discretion when resolving member complaints and issues while representing the Club.
  • Notifies departments of new members joining the Club, member status changes, and junior members' retirement as of 25th birthday. Note changes in membership files.
  • Ensures that pertinent, timely, and accurate information is presented to the membership.
  • Host and attend property and local events to expand membership funnel, explore potential partnerships and become part of the community.
  • Maintain communication with key internal and external business partners.
  • Communicates with members, co-workers, management, and the public courteously and professionally.

  • Performs duties assigned by the Director of Membership & Club Events.

Qualifications
  • Professional and courteous attitude, well organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills; verbally articulate with strong written composition. Ability to work independently, take initiative and use sound judgement.
  • Strong relational skills to support professional interaction with internal and external partners at all levels.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks within time constraints.
  • Bachelor's degree and membership, sales, and/or hospitality related experience in a large, professional environment. A luxury private club and/or hotel environment is preferred.
  • Advanced-level knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Agilysys, and advanced aptitude for learning new computer applications.
