Additionally, under the direct supervision of the Senior Membership Director, this individual will be responsible for community engagement and building relationships that positively impact the community and support organizational goals.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

A leader to help support and develop to maximize our impact. This person will:

  • Model the YMCA Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility through actions and conversations with members, and communicate our image using the Y’s Voice Words of Genuine, Nurturing, Hopeful, Welcoming and Determined.
  • Set the standards and model exceptional member service to staff, volunteers, and members, and demonstrate genuine relationship building daily.
  • Welcome prospective members using a “Listen First” approach by determining their needs, connecting them with the benefits of membership, and asking them to join.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  •  Train, supervise, and mentor 25 part-time staff—you get to have a direct impact on the success of our membership team!
  • Demonstrate goal orientated conversations with prospective members using open-ended questions to learn their needs and help connect them with the benefits of membership.
  • Develop and implement ongoing tactics to increase member enrollment and ensure member retention through excellent member services.
  • Plan and coordinate community events, workshops, and activities to foster sense of belonging and promote community involvement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to promote collaboration and partnership opportunities.
  • Handle and resolve member questions/complaints in a professional and caring manner.
  • Have meaningful conversations with members who are looking for financial assistance towards membership and programs.

Successful performance in this position results in creating a positive environment ensuring that members feel welcomed and wanted. Increased membership sales through open ended questions and connecting perspective members goals to the benefits of membership. Train, support and develop new staff who join our membership team. Supporting the YMCA mission through all interactions and modeling the characteristics of welcoming, nurturing, genuine, determined, and hopeful.
