Job description

Do you have experience in collection and recovery solutions at a financial institution and are you looking to advance into a more meaningful career? CoVantage Credit Union is seeking a full time Member Solutions Collections Supervisor! This individual will provide general leadership and direction to the Member Solutions Consumer Specialist staff, implementing approved collection policies and procedures to ensure the appropriate handling of high-risk loans while minimizing losses and collection expenses for the credit union. Job Duties:
  • Develop and implement the Member Solutions department policies and procedures consistent with applicable laws and regulations to be used throughoutCoVantageoffices
  • Coordinate and delegate workload while providing mentorship, coaching and support to Consumer Specialists including routine one-on-one training
  • Organizes time and resources ensuring theconsumercollectors’ time is spenteffectivelyworking withmembersand accounts are being followeduponappropriately
  • Ensures self and staffremainup-to-dateand informed in credit union policy and procedures includinglegal aspects of collecting, filinginsuranceclaims,sending demands and right to cure notices, as well ascollection laws including applicable FDCPA and bankruptcy laws

This individual may be expected to work required late night shifts per week and Saturdays as indicated on the Member Solutions schedule.

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree or 5 years’ experience in consumer collections and/or loan processing /servicing or other customer service within a financial institution
  • Have a valid driver’s license as some travel isrequired
  • KnowledgearoundBankruptcy laws including bankruptcy 7 and 13 and experience working with bankruptcy situations and attorneys
  • General knowledge of federal and state applicable collection laws and regulations
  • General exposureof the liquidation of foreclosed property and possession of collateral on commercialand consumerloans
  • Basic understanding ofrepossessionlaw and requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in direct, professional contact with a wide variety of peopleon a daily basis
  • General understanding of the handling of small claims actions for a financial institution
  • Candidates able to read, write, and speak Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply
