Job description

Our science education non-profit is looking for a volunteer secretary to join our board!

Secretary: attends all quarterly board meetings and is responsible for maintaining complete and accurate meeting minutes.

  • Records Board meeting minutes and distributes in a timely manner after each meeting
  • Monitors compliance with the organization's by-laws
  • Work with Executive Director and Board President to create the Board meeting Agenda and distribute it to all board members prior to the board meetings
  • Keep a copy, as amended to date of the Articles of Incorporation and the By-laws, and other such records as required by law
  • Keep a record of all contact information for current board members and their respective terms
  • Update and keep all signed documents that make up the New Board Member binder
  • Distribute expectations list to new and returning Board members
