Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Aide/Tech (CMA/CMT) - PRN to join our team! The Certified Medication Aide/Tech is responsible for passing medication under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse and to provide direct, hands-on care to residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse, passes medication and provides treatments according to physician's orders and in accordance with facility policy.
  • Reports changes in resident's condition immediately to the Charge Nurse.
  • Reviews Tenant Service Plans as needed to gain and maintain a familiarity with tenant service needs and preferences.
  • Reviews the Staff 24-Hour Communication log and corresponding Tenant Service Notes on a daily basis for information about changes in tenant service needs and/or health conditions.
  • Provides personal services to tenants as assigned and as indicated on Tenant Service Plans.
  • Assists tenants with medications and/or treatments as assigned and allowed by regulation.
  • Responds to calls from the emergency call system in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
  • Assists in the dining room during meal times
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment by providing housekeeping services as needed.
  • Assists with individual tenant and group social/recreational activities as requested; encourages tenant participation in activities.
  • Monitors for changes in tenant needs, preferences, and/or health status, and reports/documents any changes according to established procedures.
  • Responds to emergencies in an appropriate manner as per training received.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

The Certified Medication Aide/Tech must have completed an approved training program and passed competency examinations in clinical skills and written knowledge to obtain certification as both a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide (CMA).

This position requires operation of mechanical lifts, which under federal law may only be performed by individuals 18 years of age or older.
