The Sanford Inside Sales team drives consumer growth, market expansion, and strategic engagement across Medicare and Individual product lines. The team partners across the organization to strengthen distribution channels, optimize consumer experiences, build community and broker relationships, and deliver innovative growth strategies that connect more individuals to the coverage and support they need.

Summary

Enroll and retain Medicare & ACA beneficiaries in designated territories into Sanford's Medicare & ACA plans primarily through a consultative approach of assisting brokers with sales and directly selling to prospects who request direct enrollment while maintaining compliance with CMS and state regulations. Sales will occur through field marketing, community relationship building and presentations. Occasional staffing of phone lines and taking walk in sales appointments may be required based on volumes.

Job Description

Develops an annual sales plan outlining how to achieve both activity and productivity targets. The sales plan will also include but not limited to: target market definition, competitive market environment, annual sales forecast, expected obstacles to goal achievement, strategies for overcoming obstacles and achieving objectives and a timetable for implementation of each action to achieve sales goals. Helps support activities of contracted agents in closing sales and coordinating with Sanford Health Plan (SHP) to ensure successful enrollment outcomes when requested or needed and sells direct to prospects who don't have/want an agent. Coordinates and conducts a variety of presentations including but not limited to in-home presentations, Medicare community workshops, and, when requested, group retiree meetings. Staffs information booths, and community events. Responsible for active community networking and relationship building with all organizations that serve Medicare eligible individuals in the territory to facilitate sales in Sanford Health Plan's (SHP) Medicare products. Maintain relationships with these contacts to generate a positive and mutually beneficial relationship between the organizations and SHP. Plans and schedules a community marketing activity calendar targeting locations of high population/concentration of Medicare eligible individuals (i.e., physicians' offices, pharmacies, senior centers, senior housing complexes, etc.). Monitors sales performance and makes revisions to the activity calendar on a bi-monthly basis as required to achieve goals. Achieves weekly, monthly, and annual activity and sales goals. Establishes positive relationships with SHP promoters to seek out referrals to other Medicare eligible individuals. Creates and maintains prospect lists from contacts made, for use in compliant recruitment of members. Supports employer group Medicare sales and staff's enrollment meetings, when needed. Coordinates with the Broker Account Executive on targeted group accounts fostering an on-going beneficial relationship. Conducts presentations at retiree meetings. Thoroughly documents all prospective member contacts as well as all other scheduled and/or completed service, marketing, and sales activities. Demonstrates commitment to customer satisfaction through respectful, courteous, confidential, and caring interactions with prospects, members, colleagues, brokers, providers, community partners and employer representatives. This include responding to inquiries and resolving problems in a timely and professional manner. Provides non-confidential feedback from industry contacts, members and prospects that may be useful to improving the successful operation and growth of the Medicare & ACA programs. Responsible to maintain appropriate state sales licensure including taking required continuing education classes and passing the annual Medicare sales training. Maintains current knowledge of and complies with CMS and State regulations.Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The Licensed Medicare Sales Agent (I-SNP) builds relationships with long-term care facilities, educates residents and families on Medicare benefits, ensures CMS-compliant enrollments, and helps eligible individuals access specialized healthcare coverage.

Associate's Degree in Business, Marketing or a related field required. In lieu of a degree leadership may consider 3 years of applicable experience. Related and relevant experience or a demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered in lieu of academic requirements
Minimum of five (5) years of sales experience and/or account management; some Medicare experience preferred. One (1) year of previous marketing, public relations, or customer service experience preferred. Previous experience in or knowledge of the Medicare or Senior market preferred. Related training or academic coursework, or a demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered in lieu of previous experience.
Must have, or obtain within 90 days, appropriate state Health & Life Insurance license.
Must possess and maintain (1) a valid state driver's license and (2) a driving record that meets the criteria specified through Sanford Health Systems' Corporate Insurance Program. Failure to maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with corporate criteria may result in release of employment.
