CDL Trainee (3 Day Weekends, Local Routes!)

Salary Range $57,500.00 - $62,500.00

Description

Purpose: Interested in obtaining your CDL? Blue Ridge Beverage Company, Inc., located in Central and Southwest VA, is a large beverage distribution company seeking a full-time SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (CDL Trainee). The individual in this position will be responsible for delivering pre-sold beverage products to retail customers on an assigned route while participating in our driver training program that would help you earn your CDL at no cost to you!

Starting Pay (Non-CDL): $57,500

CDL Pay: $62,500

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Position Requirements:

Duties:

  • Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner. Complete daily pre- and post-trip logs.
  • Deliver products to customers following a defined route.
  • Accurately unload product and merchandise inventory to the shelves.
  • Recover company property and always secure product.
  • Rotate all shelf stock, back stock, and cooler inventory during each delivery to ensure product freshness.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures to fulfill customer requests concerning delivery needs, product rotation and merchandising.
  • Build displays to designated standards in support of retail programs.
  • Accurately edit invoices and collects checks and money orders for the correct amount. Reconcile route daily.
  • Maintain neat appearance daily and adhere to company uniform policy.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent education.
  • Driver's license and driving record that meets the criteria for being an authorized driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Ability to safely operate any delivery vehicle, including commercial motor vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of up to 26,000 pounds.
  • Strong math, verbal and written communication skills preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: The following list of physical requirements are required to perform the entire job: standing; walking; sitting; stooping; fine finger and hand manipulation; speaking clearly; hearing to be able to maintain conversation; seeing to be able to read and to drive a vehicle; and lifting, moving, and carrying 25-40 lbs. repetitively, and occasionally up to 170 lbs. when handling kegs. Must be able bend, lift, carry, climb, stoop and stack product using a hand truck or electric pallet jack.
