Main Activities and Responsibilities
Reporting organisationally to the FIFA26 Director, Medical Administration, the Tournament Operations Center Medical Care Navigator will be a key member of the FIFA26 Medical Services team, and work in close collaboration with the Tournament Medical Lead and other key individuals responsible for defining a clear process by which participating teams can access priority care of highest international standards and other key participant groups (VIP Guests, Workforce) can access non-emergency specialist care and primary/family care as defined in the FIFA Medical Handbook and defined in the operational plan.
The main responsibilities of the Tournament Operations Center Medical Care Navigator for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
  • The Tournament Operations Center Medical Care Navigator is responsible for the coordination of medical services to participating teams at the FIFA World Cup 26™ according to the FIFA Medical Handbook and the Concept of Operations Plans plan under supervision by the Director, Medical Administration, Senior Manager, Medical Services and FIFA Tournament Medical Lead and in close collaboration with the FIFA Venue Medical Officers US.
  • The Tournament Operations Center Medical Care Navigator coordinates the availability of medical staff, transports (ambulances, air rescue etc.), access to local providers (hospitals, emergency wards etc.).
  • Support of the FIFA Venue Medical Officers (VMOs) in all administrative and operational matters.
  • The Tournament Operations Center Medical Care Navigator collaborates closely with the Senior Medical Services Managers Canada, Mexico and USA. Tasks and Responsibilities:
Support of the standards described in the FIFA Medical Handbook as per the operational plan, with a focus on participating teams and referees:
  1. Supports the 24/7 medical coverage program for players and team officials at all venues (Team Base Camps; and Team Hotels) in collaboration with Host City Medical Leads
  2. Communicates & coordinates with designated hospitals and providers to support the FIFA VMOs, Tournament Medical Lead and Director Medical Administration General tasks and role functions
  • Capable of working a variety of shifts in the Tournament Operations Center that begin at 07:00 and conclude at 01:00
  • Represents first point of contact at the Medical Desk Tournament Operations Center
  • Anticipates and analyses problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure optimal support to team doctors at all times
  • Cooperates with other stakeholders and functional areas within FIFA26 to meet the FIFA medical requirements
  • Builds trust relations with external key partners and stakeholders

Your Profile
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree, complete or in process, in athletic training, sports business management or similar qualification
Work Experience
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in national or international sport, or collegiate athletics
  • Organising medical services at local and national events, within the event owner organisation.
  • Planning and organising medical services that meet event owner requirements and operational role in the implementation at local and national sports events.
  • Extensive professional network within the local sports and football medicine community to draw from during project implementation.
  • Experience in multicultural and multi-professional environments and establishing sound working relationships with people of other cultures and backgrounds.
Languages
  • Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
Technology
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project), planning software and MS Teams and other online collaboration tools
