Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic After-School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising and guiding children during after-school activities, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting the overall well-being of students.
Hours:
  • Monday through Friday, 12:00PM-6:00PM and 8:30AM-5:30PM on UCPS Teacher Work Day
  • This position could potentially turn into a Full time Summer Position with our Summer Camp based upon performance and employee's interest.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Incorporate interactive and innovative teaching methods, including the use of technology and multimedia resources.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to align teaching strategies with program goals.
  • Plan and lead educational and recreational activities.
  • Provide homework assistance and academic support.
  • Supervise students to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment that supports diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom or activity space.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.
  • Teaching certification or relevant licensure (if applicable).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with modern educational tools and resources.
  • Must obtain North Carolina Child Care Criminal Qualifying Letter
  • Present a TB Screening/Test and Health Assessment
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage groups of children effectively.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Ability to tailor lesson plans for students ages 5 years-old to 12 years-old
  • Creativity in curriculum design and lesson delivery.
