As an Event Server at Arlo Williamsburg, you will be expected to have a first-rate knowledge on event services in different styles, from cocktail style events to synchronized plated dinners. During events, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

· Review all Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure flawless execution of large parties and special events.

· Serving canapes and serving food for all services.

· Taking food and beverage orders with a full knowledge of our menu.

· Bussing and polishing glassware, flatware, and plate ware.

· Assist in the cleaning and storage of any and all event items and event spaces.

· Ability and experience providing exceptional and quality service to high profile celebrity and VIP clientele.

· Assist with the set-up, breakdown & decorations in the event space as needed.

· Assist in the cleaning and storage of any and all event items and event spaces.

· Respond promptly, professionally, and appropriately to guest and staff concerns.

· Maintain a high level of cleanliness and adhere to all sanitary and safety standards.

· Foster a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for dining and entertainment.

· Anticipate guest needs and consistently exceed service expectations.

· Exhibit dependability by following instructions, responding to management direction, and completing tasks in a timely manner.

· Collaborate effectively with the team while balancing individual responsibilities.

· Take initiative, demonstrate accountability, and clearly communicate with both guests and colleagues to resolve issues.

· Maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced environment.

· Accurately relay information regarding orders, allergies, and special requests to the Event Captain, Event Manager, and/or appropriate team members.

· Handle guest complaints with a positive attitude and promptly notify management whenever a guest is dissatisfied.

· Going above and beyond to accommodate requests.

Qualifications:

· Minimum 2 years' experience in hospitality, preferably in catering or as a server

· Ability to learn and quickly present menu items

· Ability to carry drinks and glassware on a serving tray

· Ability to partner with a variety of individuals including guests, clients, colleagues and managers

· Superb organization and listening skills.

  • · Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality

· Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills

· Able to work in a team environment and welcome feedback and direction

· Capable of standing for prolonged periods of time up to 10+ hours

· Lifting and moving venue furniture up to 50 lbs.

· Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, carry multiple objects

· A positive and prompt work ethic

· General wine and cocktail knowledge a plus.

Salary: $40.00/ Hour
