About the Role
Imagine leading the events that define one of the most iconic hospitality destinations in the country.
The World Equestrian Center is looking for a Director of Special Events to lead the planning and execution of exceptional experiences across our world-class property. From international equestrian competitions and luxury galas to corporate gatherings, community celebrations, and private events, this role helps bring unforgettable moments to life for guests from around the world.

What You'll Lead
  • Develop and execute the overall strategy for special events across the World Equestrian Center property, ensuring every event reflects the WEC brand and guest experience standards.
  • Oversee the planning and production of equestrian competitions, luxury galas, corporate events, community celebrations, and private functions.
  • Collaborate with marketing, hospitality, and operations teams to ensure seamless event execution from concept through completion.
  • Manage all aspects of event logistics including budgeting, timelines, vendor partnerships, staffing, and operational coordination.
  • Serve as the lead contact for VIP events, high-profile clients, sponsors, and key partnerships.
  • Lead and develop a team of event professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors, sponsors, and community partners to expand event opportunities.
  • Monitor event performance and provide insights and reporting to leadership to support future planning and growth.
  • Partner with the marketing team to promote events across digital, print, and social channels while maintaining brand consistency.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience planning and managing events, ideally within hospitality, luxury venues, or large-scale event environments.
  • Strong leadership experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple events and timelines simultaneously.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and large-scale event logistics.
  • Comfort working flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays when events require.
  • Experience with event management systems or CRM platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with equestrian events or sporting environments is a plus.
  • Experience with luxury or high-end event production is highly valued.
