How you'll contribute
A Medical Staff Coordinator who excels in this role:
  • Serve as the operational lead for FPPE, OPPE, and peer review processes, ensuring alignment with Medical Staff Bylaws, TJC, CMS, and state regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage FPPE processes for new providers, new privileges, and performance triggers, including development of FPPE plans and tracking completion.
  • Maintain OPPE dashboards, performance metrics, and review cycles; distribute reports to department chairs and monitor trends for potential focused review.
  • Triage peer review referral cases, prepare de-identified case materials, facilitate objective review processes, and track action plans through completion using RL Solutions.
  • Coordinate Medical Staff committees, including preparation of reports, documentation of actions, and follow-up on recommendations to MEC and Credentialing.
  • Validate and maintain confidential data sources and databases; prepare accurate reports for MEC, Quality Committees, and hospital leadership.
  • Provide education and guidance to department chairs, reviewers, and providers on FPPE/OPPE processes and MD STAT or other software utilized for PEER/OPPE/FPPE.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with West Virginia peer review protections while promoting fairness, objectivity, and due process.
  • Identify process gaps, recommend workflow improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives within provider performance evaluation programs.
