Responsibilities & Requirements

Kettering Health is seeking a relationship-driven Physician Recruiter to support physician recruitment across our growing health system. This role partners closely with physician leaders, operational leadership, graduate medical education programs, and executive stakeholders to recruit top clinical talent across a variety of specialties and practice settings.

Recruiters support a broad range of searches including primary care, hospital-based medicine, surgical specialties, subspecialty recruitment, academic leadership, and strategic growth initiatives.

Our recruiters operate with a high level of autonomy while working within a collaborative, team-first culture. Recruiters are encouraged to develop recruitment strategies, build candidate pipelines, and manage assigned searches while receiving strong leadership support and organizational visibility.

Kettering Health continues to expand services and is currently building an additional hospital as part of our ongoing growth strategy. Physician recruitment is viewed as a critical strategic function across the organization. 

Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with physician practices, service line leadership, and operational stakeholders to support physician recruitment initiatives.
  • Develop recruitment strategies and candidate pipelines through sourcing, networking, conferences, referrals, and residency/fellowship outreach.
  • Manage assigned recruitment searches with a high level of ownership and autonomy.
  • Screen, evaluate, and present qualified physician candidates.
  • Coordinate and facilitate candidate interviews, travel, site visits, itineraries, meals, and community tours.
  • Deliver a highly personalized, concierge-level candidate experience designed to showcase both Kettering Health and the surrounding community.
  • Maintain strong relationships with candidates, physician leaders, residency programs, and operational stakeholders.
  • Maintain recruitment activity and candidate tracking within recruitment systems and databases.
  • Participate in recruitment conferences, networking events, service line meetings, and resident/fellow engagement activities.
  • Support innovative sourcing strategies and continuous improvement in recruitment processes.
  • Collaborate closely with recruitment team members to support departmental initiatives and maintain a strong team-oriented culture.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and behaviors consistent with the mission and values of Kettering Health.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree required.

Minimum Experience:

One year of experience in recruitment, healthcare operations, marketing, business development, physician liaison work, or related professional experience preferred.

Physician or healthcare recruitment experience preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel periodically for conferences, networking events, and candidate-related activities.
  • Attendance at the annual Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment national conference is expected.
  • Must maintain valid driver's license and appropriate automobile insurance coverage if using personal vehicle for business purposes.

Professional Development:

Membership in Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment is required once eligible. Kettering Health supports continuing education, professional development, and attendance at national and regional physician recruitment conferences.
