Job description

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment. This role is assigned to a clinician and involves both direct patient care and administrative clinical support. The Medical Assistant will assist with rooming patients, performing in-clinic procedures, managing clinical documentation, and supporting care coordination activities using EPIC.

Medical Assistant – Ambulatory Clinic
Location: Moreno Valley, CA 92553 (Riverside County Area)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Minimum 3-month+ temp/contract role (possible extension and/or temp-hire)
Hourly Pay Rate: $24.34/hr.

Key Responsibilities

  • Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, and complete visit preparation

  • Assist clinicians during patient visits and clinical procedures

  • Perform patient discharge tasks including EKGs, point-of-care testing (POCT), injections, and vaccines as needed

  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up care

  • Manage and respond to In Basket messages within EPIC

  • Process patient referrals and coordinate external care services

  • Support medication prior authorizations and insurance-related clinical tasks

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EPIC)

  • Support clinical workflow and ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day

  • Follow clinic protocols for patient care, safety, and infection control

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience working as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient or clinic setting

  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR strongly required

  • Ability to support both clinical and administrative workflows

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume clinical environment

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • PPD (Tuberculosis skin test) required

  • Additional vaccinations (MMR, Varicella, Hep B) recommended but not required

  • Standard background check and drug screening required
