Job Summary

Seeking a motivated, organized, and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our OB-GYN practice. This role supports both clinical and administrative functions, assisting physicians and providers in delivering high-quality care to patients in a professional and welcoming environment.

The ideal candidate is computer savvy, able to multitask, and thrives in a fast-paced medical environment. A strong applicant will have excellent communication skills, work well under pressure, and maintain a positive, can-do attitude. Candidates should be flexible, friendly with patients and staff, and able to work independently while adapting to changing priorities.


Duties

Perform administrative and clinical support tasks in an OB-GYN clinical setting
Room patients, obtain vitals, and assist providers during examinations and procedures
Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes
Obtain lab and test results from outside facilities and send standing orders to designated labs
Process prior authorizations for diagnostic tests and provider-ordered procedures
Contact insurance companies to file appeals or obtain verbal authorizations for urgent treatment
Work closely with providers and clinical staff to coordinate patient care needs
Provide patients with referrals for continuing women's health or specialty care
Educate patients about medical procedures, treatment plans, and follow-up care
Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR system

Requirements

Qualifications

Experience with Electronic Medical Records programs (EPIC preferred)
Customer service experience in a medical or clinical setting
Experience managing multiple phone lines in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of medical terminology, OSHA, and HIPAA compliance
Experience working with Medicare, HMO, and PPO insurance payers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)


Education / Certification Requirements

High School diploma required
Medical Assistant Certificate (AAMA/CMA) - California or National preferred


Experience

Two to three years of medical front and back office experience preferred
