As a Medical Records Clerk, you'll help maintain the integrity, security, and accessibility of critical health information that supports patient care throughout the facility.
Position Summary
As a Medical Records Clerk, you'll be responsible for maintaining and organizing patient health records while ensuring compliance with confidentiality and documentation standards. Working closely with healthcare staff and facility leadership, you will:
  • Maintain, organize, and update patient medical records, logs, and health information systems to ensure accuracy and accessibility
  • Ensure the confidentiality, security, and proper release of medical information in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies
  • Retrieve, file, and manage clinical documentation, including laboratory reports, consultation reports, and other healthcare records
  • Support healthcare operations through appointment tracking, report preparation, record management, and administrative support activities
  • Assist with compliance initiatives, statistical reporting, record retention requirements, and continuous improvement of medical records processes
