Full Time/Permanent - Direct Hire

Location - 10948 Bigge St San Leandro CA 94577

Pay Range - $26.00 – $32.00 per hour hour plus benefits

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
  • Evening Shift
  • Weekends & On-call: Discussed during interview

About the Role:

Point of Care Lab Technician

Under supervision of Laboratory Manager, performs waived laboratory tests in a remote or mobile setting. Also responsible for monitoring quality of reagents and working condition of instruments.


Essential Functions:

  • Receives specimens from phlebotomists and couriers.
  • May operate a delivery van to bring the mobile lab to an area of high volume of STAT testing when applicable.
  • Enters patient demographics and test orders into lab information system.
  • Checks the quality control of each test prior to running and reporting patient results. Ensures QC is within appropriate limits and brings problems to a supervisor/manager in real time.
  • Performs lab testing in the areas of point of care which may include Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Molecular and Coagulation.
  • Data entry of test results.
  • Confirms abnormal results prior to releasing and bring any “rare and improbable” test results to the attention of a supervisor/manager.


Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and ability to drive safely. [REQUIRED]
  • Familiarity with lab process and workflow. [REQUIRED]
  • Previous experience with phlebotomy and laboratory testing preferred. [PREFERRED]
  • High school degree or equivalent. [REQUIRED]
  • Any certification/licensure needed per state requirements. [REQUIRED]
  • State of California only – qualify as testing personnel for waived testing, a minimum of licensed medical laboratory technician or licensed vocation nurse. [REQUIRED]
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. [PREFERRED]
  • Detail oriented and organizational skills.[PREFERRED]
  • Exercises accuracy and precision in completion of prescribed tasks and treatments. [PREFERRED]
