Until FilledMOESC is seeking qualified applicants for School Nurse for (Monmouth / Ocean) County.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Valid License as a Registered Nurse issued by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing Required.
  2. NJ Department of Ed School Nurse Certification
  3. Nursing Experience, school setting preferred
  4. Hold and maintain a valid Driver License with no serious violations or be able to obtain own transportation to various nonpublic school locations
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  6. Strong organization and time management skills
  7. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status, and certified health clearance

REPORTS TO: Special Services Director or Designee
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assist nonpublic school medical inspector with medical examination, including dental screening.
  2. Conduct screening of hearing examinations.
  3. Conduct vision screenings as per state guidelines.
  4. Develops and maintains student health records in accordance with current State regulations
  5. Notifies parents, school administrator and local or county health officials of any student who has not been properly immunized
  6. Prepare annual reports on the immunization status of pupils in the assigned nonpublic school for State Department of Health.
  7. Conduct examinations of pupils between the ages of 10 and 18 for the condition known as scoliosis
  8. Prepare reports as required by Board policy and/or state rules and regulations.
  9. Report diseases to the local Health Department as per their requirements.
  10. Maintains and improves professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the Commission and self-selected qualified growth activities.
  11. Maintain inventory of nursing supplies.
  12. Provide emergency care as needed to those pupils who are enrolled full time in the nonpublic school who are injured or become ill at school or during participation on a school team or squad.
  13. Attends and participates in meetings as required.
  14. Perform all other duties as assigned in order to ensure compliance with Chapter 226, Laws of 1991, Provision of Nursing Services to Nonpublic Schools.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time, hourly based on nonpublic funding designation and nonpublic/public school needs
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the MOESC's Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
