As the Director, Scientific Communications and Medical Education, you will be responsible for Leadership role for scientific and medical product communications activities; direct medically accurate and complaint data dissemination.

Locations: Durham, NC (eligible for a domestic relocation package) or London, UK

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following...

  • Lead the strategic development of Data Dissemination plans for select assets, looking ahead 18-24 months, assuring alignment with RDGM Mission

  • Work with internal scientists, external experts and vendors on oral presentations, posters, abstracts, slide sets and publications

  • Participate as core member of the RDGM Grant and Donations Committee which reviews and evaluates requests for funding for educational grants, and evaluation of Scientific Congress sponsorships.

  • Provide coordinated review of communication activities to ensure compliance with existing SOPs, oversee effort to ensure all activities and materials provided are reviewed and appropriately signed off, as well as ensuring that an archive of approved material is maintained

  • Lead development and delivery of scientific and medical communications, for key Congresses, Advisory Boards, and other scientific meetings

  • Assist Global Medical Teams with development of Medical Education Materials for internal and external use

  • Responsible for providing scientific and medical communications input for products in a matrix development team

  • Assist in the development of public relations materials for communicating key milestones, events and issues by close collaboration with the product communications functions

  • Develop and manage budgets

  • Ensure appropriate selection and project management of vendors with respect to budget, as well as ongoing management of relationship with vendors

  • Work with internal scientists to ensure effective and compliant scientific engagement activities

  • Requires 30% local and international travel

  • Other duties as assigned

  • PhD, Pharm D, MD/DO & 5 plus years of pharma experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in scientific communications or medical education

  • Experience with global commercial market place - US/Europe/International

  • Ability to build personal credibility with external experts and interface at a high technical level

  • Ability to lead and guide others in dealing with complex projects and resolve complex issues

  • Experienced in interacting with all levels of management and staff on a strategic level

  • Ability to effectively persuade and influence others

  • Ability to work autonomously

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and organizational skills as demonstrated by numerous manuscripts, posters and abstracts accepted and presented to global audiences
