Supervisor - Nursing
Full-Time; 40 Hours per Week (Monday-Friday) Generally, no holidays or weekends; however, occasional coverage may be required to maintain adequate departmental staffing.
Community Memorial Hospital is seeking a Supervisor - Nursing to lead and support nursing operations within the Emergency Department, inpatient, and infusion departments. The Supervisor partners with leadership to manage staff oversight, scheduling, education, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance while maintaining a strong presence in frontline patient care and clinical readiness.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with Supervisor RN-Medical to oversee IP / ED staff, including evaluations, corrective actions, hiring, rounding, and frontline staff support.
  • Oversee scheduling for ED, infusion, and inpatient departments.
  • Conduct nursing chart reviews to ensure compliance and quality standards.
  • Coordinate student nurse placements and clinical experiences.
  • Oversee hiring and onboarding for ED, infusion, and inpatient staff.
  • Coordinate nursing meetings, including agenda development and meeting minutes.
  • Monitor and support CQI initiatives for ED, infusion, and inpatient departments.
  • Organize education and conduct mock codes to support clinical readiness.
  • Develop, update, and maintain policies and procedures for ED, infusion, and inpatient departments.
  • Monitor compliance with Conditions of Participation (CoPs).
  • Maintain DIAL and EMTALA logs in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide PRN patient care coverage in ED, infusion, inpatient, and as backup support in surgery.
  • Provide backup support for UR and discharge planning in collaboration with the Supervisor RN-Medical.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Current RN License in the State of Iowa required.
  • Maintain Current ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and BLS Certifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other:
  • Possess adequate computer knowledge and strong organizational skills.
  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • Serves as a working manager, maintaining competency across all levels of care to step in and assist as needed.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
