About the Role:
The Medical Assistant - Float plays a critical role in supporting multiple healthcare facilities or departments by providing flexible, high-quality clinical and administrative assistance. The Medical Assistant will perform a wide range of duties including patient preparation, vital signs collection, assisting providers during examinations, and managing medical records. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred or in progress.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of one year experience in a clinical medical assistant role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in multiple clinical settings or as a float medical assistant.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic.
- Additional certifications such as phlebotomy or EKG technician.
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills demonstrated in a healthcare environment.
- Experience with patient education and health promotion activities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical support such as taking patient histories, measuring vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations.
- Assist healthcare providers during patient exams and procedures by handling instruments and supplies.
- Perform administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating patient records, and managing correspondence.
- Adapt quickly to different clinical environments and workflows while maintaining consistent quality of care.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control protocols, and patient confidentiality standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff to facilitate smooth operations across multiple locations.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment, restocking as necessary to support clinical activities.
