About the Role
We're seeking a Medical Assistant to support our physicians and clinical team across both our gastroenterology diagnostic center and ambulatory surgical center operations. This role ensures patient readiness, assists with procedures, maintains a sterile environment, and handles medical instruments in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities
•     Prepare and maintain surgical/procedural instruments and supplies according to established procedures
•     Assist healthcare professionals during patient procedures, including instrument handling and room preparation
•     Ensure proper documentation of missing instruments, equipment malfunctions, or supply shortages
•     Maintain a clean and sterile environment; disinfect equipment and process instruments properly
•     Assist in patient transfers, positioning, and safety procedures
•     Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and patients
•     Maintain compliance with all medical protocols and infection control standards
Required Qualifications
1Â Â Â Â Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or current Medical Assistant certificate
2Â Â Â Â Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
3Â Â Â Â Current TB test and Flu vaccination
4Â Â Â Â Hepatitis and Varicella titers (or documented immunity)
5Â Â Â Â COVID-19 vaccination (mandatory)
6Â Â Â Â Fluency in Spanish (required)
Preferred Qualifications
•     Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in a gastroenterology or ambulatory surgical center setting
•     Strong knowledge of medical equipment and sterilization procedures
•     Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Physical Requirements
•     Must be able to stand for extended periods and assist with patient transfers
•     Requires manual dexterity and ability to perform precise medical tasks
