Job description

Job Summary: Under general supervision of a Licensed Vocational Nurse, provides back office support for physicians and clerical staff. Chart patient’s chief complaint, may assist w/ obstetrical history, and take vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse respiration, height and weight). Follow physician orders and give the patient their discharge instructions. Complete order in EMR and submit to Superbill including any other charges. Follow route slips for physicals and complete the necessary portions of forms. Complete patient registration process and update as required. Greets patients, check-in and check-out process. Handling busy phones, maintaining proper documentation of all paperwork, medical record functions, including scanning correspondence, forms, prescription refills as well as taking messages. May perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. BLS. Two or more years experience in the medical field, physician’s office/direct patient care; ability to perform spirometry, EKG, use centrifuge, microscope, pulse oximeter, computer skills; ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology; ability to effectively communicate and excellent customer service skills.

Salary range: $22.89 - $32.21 hourly. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
