Medical Assistant Job DescriptionLocation: Fountain Valley, CA, 92708Job Purpose:

The job purpose of a Medical Assistant at the Cancer and Blood Specialty Clinic is to provide exceptional patient care and support to medical professionals in the clinic. This role involves assisting with various medical procedures, performing administrative tasks, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. Candidate must be fluent in Vietnamese.

Essential Job Functions:

The essential job functions of a medical assistant include, but are not limited to:

  • Greet patients, check-in and check-out
  • Assist in the coordination of diagnostic tests, imaging studies, and hospital admissions
  • Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and manage patient flow within the clinic
  • Make sure patient’s insurance and eligibility are verified
  • Collect copays and any outstanding balances
  • Manage and update patient demographics and records while maintaining confidentiality
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills in the performance of work assignments and duties
  • Communicating with patients, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Review physician orders, test requests, tasks, or follow-up needs with patients
Qualifications and Experience:

Qualifications and experience required for the position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a medical assistant training program from an accredited institution OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR minimum of 2 years as a medical assistant in an office or clinic setting
