POSITION SUMMARY:

A fast-track training program that allows for learning the necessary skills and competencies of a Medical Assistant. Throughout this program, the Medical Assistant in Training will successfully complete classroom and clinical education requirements under the supervision of trained staff. Responsible for meeting the expectations of the program and maintaining the established medical office protocols. After successful completion of the program, the Medical Assistant in Training has the opportunity to work in a variety of Cornerstone Care health centers that include medical, pediatrics, behavioral health, and mobile services.

Travel to various clinical sites in the program include but are not limited to Allegheny, Fayette, Greene and Washington Counties.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

While completing the Medical Assistant in Training program, perform various tasks and responsibilities including the following:

Program Requirements

  • Complete the online learning program with a passing grade of 85% B or higher.

  • Participates in program-required job shadowing, simulation learning, and clinical learning at various locations.

  • Completes the necessary training competencies set forth in the clinical learning program under the supervision of trained staff.

Other requirements:

After completion of program, trainees will remain under the supervision of program administrator until placement is made in a Cornerstone Care Health Center. Trainees will work in a variety of locations until a placement is made. Must be able to work in and be assigned to placement in any Cornerstone Care location.
