Job Summary
As a Medical Assistant, you'll play a vital role in delivering outstanding patient care by supporting providers throughout the patient visit. You'll ensure a smooth, efficient clinical experience while maintaining professionalism, compassion, and patient confidentiality. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative, patient-first mindset.
What You'll Do
  • Assist providers with exams, procedures, and patient care.
  • Room patients, update medical histories, and prepare them for exams.
  • Maintain efficient patient flow and prepare exam rooms between visits.
  • Set up instruments, equipment, and procedure trays; assist during procedures.
  • Prepare and document lab/pathology specimens and communicate results as directed.
  • Accurately document patient visits in the EMR.
  • Respond to patient calls, questions, prescription requests, and scheduling needs.
  • Maintain exam room cleanliness, sterilize instruments, and manage medical supplies.
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety protocols.
  • Assist with medication prior authorizations, referrals, and other administrative tasks.
  • Support the practice team with additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma required
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred
  • Medical Terminology knowledge
  • 1-2 years' experience in a medical office (dermatology practice preferred)
