MBD Consultants (XG Consultants Group) is seeking a highly detail-oriented and intellectually curious Jr. Media Analyst to join our team on-site at our Stamford, Connecticut office. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in research, writing, and analytical thinking and who are comfortable performing deep investigative work involving social media and online content.
This is a strictly IN-OFFICE position. Remote, hybrid, or relocation-based applicants will not be considered. Applicants should be local to Stamford, CT, or within a reasonable daily commuting distance.

Position Overview
As a Media Analyst, you will conduct intensive internet and media research as part of professional background screening investigations. The role involves reviewing and analyzing large volumes of social media and online content across multiple platforms (including Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, forums, blogs, and other web sources) to identify and document potentially concerning or risk-related information.
This position requires focus, discretion, consistency, and the ability to sustain attention over long periods of detailed analysis. Analysts regularly review thousands of posts and data points and should produce clear, objective, and professionally written reports.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive internet and social media research on individuals and entities
  • Review, analyze, and assess online content for potential reputational, legal, or ethical concerns
  • Identify relevant findings and summarize them accurately and objectively in written reports
  • Produce clear, grammatically precise, and well-organized investigative reports
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail while performing repetitive, high-volume research tasks
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools to draft, edit, and format reports
  • Adhere strictly to internal quality standards, confidentiality requirements, and investigative protocols
Job Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Preferred fields include: English, Psychology, Sociology, Literature, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Communications, or other research-intensive disciplines
  • Minimum GPA of 3.4
  • Exceptional internet and online research capabilities
  • Strong professional writing and editing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word required)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain quality during repetitive work
  • Strong familiarity with social media platforms, online behavior, and digital trends
  • Ability to work full-time, on-site during standard business hours
Additional Information
  • This role requires working in our Stamford, CT office on a daily basis
  • New hires will complete a 3-month probationary period
  • Successful completion of probation results in full-time Media Analyst status

Compensation & Growth Path
  • Training & probation (first 480 hours): $18.00/hour
  • Remainder of first year (2,880 hours): $19.00/hour
