Job description

Media & Research Intern

Remote (India)

Why Headout?

We're a rocketship: 9-figure revenue, record growth, and profitable

With $200M+ in revenue, guests in 700+ cities, and 18 months of profitability, Headout is the fastest-growing marketplace in the travel industry, and we're just getting started. We've raised $60M+ from top-tier investors and are building a durable company for the long term β€” because that's what our mission needs and deserves. We're growing, profitable and nowhere near done.

What We Do Is Important

In an increasingly digital world, there is a desperate need to augment our human experience by getting us to interact with the real world around us and the people in it. At Headout, our mission is to be the easiest, fastest, and most delightful way to head out to a real-life experience β€” from immersive tours to museums to live events and everything in between.

Why Now?

The foundation is strong. The opportunity ahead is even bigger. We've hit profitability, built momentum, and proven the model β€” but there's so much more to build. If you're looking to join a company where the trajectory is steep and your impact is real, this is the moment.

Our Culture

Reinventing the travel industry isn't easy, but that's the fun part. We care deeply about ownership, craft, and impact, and we're here to do the best work of our careers. We won't pretend like it's for everyone but if you're a builder who loves solving tough problems, you'll feel right at home.

The Role

Are you someone who enjoys creating visual content and digging deep into how things work? Can you balance creativity with structured research? If yes, this role at Headout's Dex team might be a great fit.

Dex is our AI-powered tour guide product, and this role sits at the intersection of content creation and experience research. You'll research venues and experiences in depth, and then translate that understanding into guided visual stories through images and videos.

This is a fast-paced role where you'll learn quickly, ship work regularly, and see your output directly influence a live product.

What Makes This Role Special?
  • Work on a 0β†’1 Product: Be part of Dex, an early-stage product where your work directly shapes how users discover and experience travel.
  • Blend Creativity with Research: Go beyond editing. You'll research venues, destinations, and experiences, and translate that understanding into guided visual stories through images and videos, along with structured, usable documentation.
  • Hands-on Learning with AI-Driven Media Tools: Get hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI-driven media tools being built in-house, and learn how they are used to create and scale new content experiences.
  • High Ownership, Fast Learning: You'll be trusted with real deliverables from day one. Initial training will get you started, but growth will come from doing.
  • Build for Scale, Not Just Aesthetics: Your work won't just look good β€” it will be used in product experiences consumed by users globally.
  • Path to Full-Time Conversion: Top performers will be considered for full-time roles as we build out the team.
What Skills & Experience Do You Need?
  • Image Editing Basics: Comfort with Photoshop or similar tools. Focus on speed and output quality over complex edits.
  • Structured Research Capability: Ability to deeply research venues and experiences, break down ambiguous topics, identify relevant sources, and synthesize insights into clear, usable documentation (Excel/Docs). You should be able to understand an experience as a whole and identify important locations, moments, routes, and stories within it.
  • Visual Storytelling: Ability to identify the right images, videos, maps, and other visual assets to communicate an experience clearly and engagingly, and bring them together into a coherent visual story.
  • Analytical Thinking: Can approach problems in a structured way, connect different pieces of information, and form clear points of view.
  • AI-First Approach: Comfort using tools like ChatGPT and other AI tools to accelerate research and content workflows.
  • Video Editing: Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Learning Mindset: Able to pick things up quickly, apply feedback, and improve with iteration.
Who Should Apply?
  • Students (Bachelor's/Master's) in Media, Film, Tourism, Journalism or related fields
  • Background or interest in documentary research, storytelling, or content creation
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, execution-heavy environment
⏳ Internship Details
  • Duration: 3 months
  • Mode: Remote
  • Conversion: Opportunity to convert into a full-time Media role based on performance
