About the Role: 

The Director of Media Services is responsible for managing and executing the integrated media strategy for the SUBWAY brand. This role works closely with Marketing, Creative, Insights/Analytics, and external agency partners to develop and implement media plans that drive brand growth and business performance. The Director will apply data-driven insights to ensure media investments are effectively managed and deliver measurable results in support of the enterprise media vision. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

Media Strategy Development & Execution 

  • Develop and manage integrated media plans aligned with the brand's communication and business objectives, supporting the enterprise media vision.
  • Partner with senior leadership to inform annual media strategy by providing insights on industry trends, the competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities.
  • Apply data-driven analysis and measurement frameworks to evaluate and optimize media effectiveness across channels.  

National Media Planning & Optimization 

  • Manage execution of the National Media Plan, ensuring effective integration across traditional, digital, social, and emerging channels.
  • Monitor and adjust media strategies in real-time based on performance analytics, market conditions, and investment priorities.
  • Maintain governance standards and best practices for media operations, performance reporting, and partner accountability.  

Branded Content & Partnerships

  • Manage branded content initiatives and day-to-day relationships with agencies, networks, influencers, and platform partners.
  • Track and evaluate ROI and performance metrics for content investments.
  • Support innovation in storytelling and content strategy to advance brand relevance and consumer engagement.  

Social Media Strategy & Performance

  • Manage the social media strategy to ensure organic and paid channels reinforce key marketing messages and brand equity.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and performance reporting for regular review with leadership.
  • Ensure social strategies are culturally relevant, timely, and reflective of brand voice  

Budget Management & Financial Reporting

  • Manage media investment tracking, budget reporting, and scenario analysis.
  • Support annual media investment planning and ensure alignment of media spend to business priorities and performance outcomes.
  • Maintain fiscal accountability and transparency in media financial governance. 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing media team, building capabilities in analytics, partnership management, and strategic thinking. 
  • Foster a collaborative culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. 

Qualifications (some examples listed below): 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field required. 
  • 8-12 years of experience in progressive media roles, with experience in integrated media planning, digital/social strategy, and agency management.
  • 3 or more years of experience managing and developing a team, including goal-setting, performance feedback, and capability building
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities with a collaborative, results-oriented approach
  • Strategic thinker with solid command of modern media ecosystems, including digital, social, and traditional channels
  • Analytical skills and business acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) with ability to engage cross-functional stakeholders
  • Deep knowledge of media planning, buying, and performance measurement methodologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and agency relationships simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Curiosity for evolving media trends, consumer behavior, and cultural relevance

Compensation: The base pay range for this role is $163,000 to $180,000 annually 

Pay within this range will be determined in good faith based on job-related factors, which may include skills, experience, education/training, location, and internal equity.
