Bethany Medical Clinic: Medical Assistant
New York, New York / Full-time

About the Job: Bethany Medical Clinic of New York is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant with Primary Care experience to help us deliver high-quality and compassionate care to New Yorkers. We are a busy medical clinic with multiple locations in New York City providing multiple types of clinical care including primary care, dermatology, and endocrinology. 

Our Medical Assistants serve as key members of Bethany Medical’s collaborative care team by supporting and assisting our Primary Care and Specialist Providers at our medical locations in the delivery of high-quality medical care. 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients warmly and triage in a clinic setting.
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect blood samples as well as urine samples.
  • Take and record vital signs accurately and efficiently, alerting PCP with any abnormalities and chief complaints; 
  • Also completes health risk assessments on behalf of PCP.
  • Triaging patients both virtually via telehealth calls and in-person.
  • Perform EKGs.
  • Conduct various types of testing and procedures, including COVID-19 or Flu testing, or gathering patient information for genetic testing, among other procedures.
  • Prepare clinical space for gynecological exams, IUD placements, and other procedures.
  • Perform ear irrigation treatments.
  • Perform administrative duties such as pulling lab reports for follow up appointments, following up with patients via multiple communication channels on behalf of their provider, reconciling lab codes for patients, etc. 
  • Assist with dermatology procedures as needed.
  • Comply with HIPAA requirements for patient confidentiality.
  • Cross-training with Front Desk Receptionist duties and flexible to cover when needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • High school Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant certification required from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of two (2) years as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Previous experience working with Primary Care preferred – Dermatology experience a plus.
  • Strong phlebotomy and vital taking skills.
  • CPR certification.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Team player with a welcoming and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be flexible to work day, evening, and Saturday shifts.
