How much do med spa jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 3, 2026, the average hourly pay for med spa in the United States is $37.30, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $28.85 and $46.39 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs in the US pay 300,000 a year?

In the medical spa industry, high-paying roles such as plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and anesthesiologists can earn $300,000 or more annually, especially with specialized skills and experience. These positions typically require advanced medical degrees, board certification, and often involve private practice or hospital employment. Other roles like nurse anesthetists or medical directors may also reach this salary level with significant experience and responsibilities.

What is the difference between Med Spa vs Esthetician?

AspectMed SpaEsthetician
CredentialsMedical certifications, licenses for advanced proceduresState licensing, esthetician license
Work EnvironmentMedical clinics, luxury spa settings, dermatology officesSpas, salons, skincare clinics
Services OfferedLaser treatments, Botox, fillers, chemical peelsFacials, waxing, skin analysis
Industry UsageMedical and aesthetic industryBeauty and skincare industry

Med Spa professionals typically have medical certifications and perform advanced aesthetic procedures in medical or luxury settings. Estheticians focus on skincare treatments like facials and waxing in spas or salons. While both work in the beauty and skincare industry, Med Spas offer more medical-grade services requiring specialized credentials.

Is it hard to get hired at a med spa?

Getting hired at a med spa can vary depending on experience, certifications, and the specific role. Entry-level positions may be easier to obtain with relevant training, while specialized roles like medical estheticians or nurses often require licensing and experience. Strong customer service skills and knowledge of skincare treatments can improve chances of employment.

What are some common challenges Med Spa professionals face when balancing client satisfaction with safety protocols?

Med Spa professionals often navigate the delicate balance between providing exceptional client experiences and adhering to strict safety and regulatory protocols. Clients may request treatments that are trending or popular but may not be suitable based on their medical history or skin type. It's crucial for professionals to educate clients, manage expectations, and sometimes decline certain procedures in the interest of client safety. Open communication, ongoing training, and teamwork with medical directors help ensure both client satisfaction and high standards of care.

How much do med spas pay?

Med spa professionals, such as medical estheticians and nurse practitioners, typically earn between $15 and $35 per hour, depending on experience, location, and certifications. Salaries can range from around $30,000 to over $70,000 annually for full-time roles, with advanced practitioners earning higher wages. Compensation may also include tips, bonuses, or commission-based pay based on services provided.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Med Spa Professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Med Spa Professional, you need expertise in aesthetic treatments, skincare knowledge, and often relevant licensure such as an esthetician or nursing credential. Familiarity with devices like lasers, injectables, and skincare product lines, as well as certifications in specific procedures, is commonly required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide a relaxing client experience help set top professionals apart. These skills ensure safe, effective treatments and foster client trust and satisfaction in a competitive wellness environment.

What kind of schooling do you need to work at a med spa?

To work at a med spa, roles such as medical estheticians or nurse practitioners typically require relevant licensing and certification, which may include completing a state-approved esthetician or nursing program. Additional training in medical procedures and certifications in specific treatments are often necessary depending on the position. Educational requirements vary by state and job responsibilities.

What is a med spa?

A med spa, short for medical spa, is a facility that combines traditional spa services with medical procedures typically found in a doctor's office. Med spas are supervised by licensed healthcare professionals and offer treatments such as Botox injections, laser hair removal, chemical peels, and skin rejuvenation therapies. These services are designed to improve appearance, boost confidence, and address various cosmetic concerns in a relaxing environment. Unlike regular day spas, med spas use advanced technology and medical-grade products to deliver more effective results.

Job description

Med Spa Managerย

Location: Henderson, NV

Employment Type: Full-Timeย

Compensation: $100,000 + bonusย

Serenity is looking for an experienced Med Spa Manager who knows what it takes to run a high-performing location - and has the results to prove it. If you've managed a med spa, aesthetic clinic, or wellness center where revenue targets and client experience were equally non-negotiable, this role will feel familiar from day one. You'll have full ownership of the location: the team, the operations, the sales pipeline, and the standard of care members expect. We're not looking for someone who needs to be built from scratch - we're looking for someone who has already done this and is ready to do it at a higher level.ย

What You'll Be Responsible Forย

- Run the full operation of a busy, premium service location - staffing, daily workflow, floor oversight, and service deliveryย

- Drive membership and service revenue, keeping your team focused on sales goals and conversion metricsย

- Maintain a client experience that reflects the elevated standard Serenity is known for - attentive, professional, and results-orientedย

- Coach and develop your team consistently, setting clear expectations and holding people to themย

- Own your location's performance data - revenue, retention, conversion rates, and quality scores - and use it to make smart operational decisionsย

- Identify and address underperformance quickly, with clarity and a defined path forwardย

What We're Looking Forย

- Prior experience managing a med spa, aesthetic practice, wellness clinic, or similar high-touch service environment - this is the profile we're actively targetingย

- A demonstrated track record of hitting and exceeding revenue targets in a membership or service-based modelย

- Strong accountability to KPIs - you've owned the numbers, presented them, and made adjustments based on what they told youย

- Experience leading teams of 10 or more with real results: people developed, retention improved, performance liftedย

- Comfortable with direct performance conversations - you don't avoid them and you follow through on what's decidedย

- Someone who runs toward operational problems, not away from themย

Compensation & Benefitsย

- $100,000+ annually plus bonus incentivesย

- 90% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverageย

- 401(k) retirement planย

- 10 PTO days to start, 15 after year one + 10 paid holidaysย

About Serenityย

Serenity is a technology-driven company offering advanced, evidence-based solutions for members seeking better health outcomes. Our locations operate at a high standard - and the managers who lead them are what keeps that standard real. We're a strong fit for leaders coming out of the med spa or aesthetic wellness space who are ready for a larger platform, stronger support, and a team that takes operations and performance as seriously as they do. If you've built something you're proud of in this industry and you're ready for what's next, we want to talk.ย

Serenity is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.ย
