Position Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechatronics Engineer to lead and support automation initiatives across our manufacturing operations. This role will focus on the integration, programming, and optimization of welding cobots, press brake automation, and laser automation systems. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in manufacturing automation, hands-on experience with robotic systems, and a passion for driving efficiency and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily production operations by troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues, interpreting blueprints, and teaching operators about the systems they are using.
  • Create and refine mechanical systems integrated with electronics and software.
  • Diagnose and trouble-shoot PLCs, custom controllers, and electrical systems.
  • Understand the proper application of safety devices to automated systems such as COBOT functionality, light curtains/area scanners, and dedicated safety plc's.
  • Ability to deep-dive into complex automation systems to implement equipment into existing processes and diagnose existing solutions.
  • Develop and optimize automation for the assembly and fabrication processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Assist in implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Design Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Operations.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, maintenance guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in equipment installation, process validation, and new product introductions.
  • Automate and analyze production data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Required Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferrable working closely with automation.
  • Experience with Amada equipment and VPSS4iE preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and process improvement techniques.
  • Experience with Welding Robotics and various robotics platforms including UR, Kuka, Lincoln.
  • Hands-on problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
