POSITION PROFILE

Position Title: Mechanical Engineer I

Reports To: Mechanical Engineer Manager


Work Location: Candidates must reside in California and be able to work from our Irvine, California office in accordance with the position's hybrid work schedule. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • At least 1+ years of experience as an engineer in a highly technical, R&D, and/or manufacturing environment or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks for 2D and 3D mechanical drawings preferred.
  • Systems integration experience.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience designing flight and military-grade hardware is a plus
  • Thermal and structural analysis experience is a plus

Key Results:

  • Mechanical design of products that meet or exceed customer requirements and Company specifications 100% of the time
  • Assess and select materials to fit design criteria and environmental requirements.
  • Assess and select manufacturing process to stay within or under target manufacturing costs.
  • On time and on budget project completion 100% of the time
  • All documentation to meet military standard requirements (if required by program) and AS9100 standards.
  • Ensure quality standards are met 100% of the time

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


  • Creating product packaging concepts that are attractive, ergonomic, functional and sophisticated.
  • Preparing detailed mechanical designs (3D) using SolidWorks including fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • Analyzing mechanical designs for thermal and structural performance using SolidWorks.
  • Coordinate and manage selected vendors and ensure quality per specifications for mechanical components by performing or overseeing quality inspections and verifications.
  • Making technical presentations to existing and prospective clients.
  • Developing efficient and cost-effective, best-value type product designs.
  • Other activities as identified and assigned.
