Job description

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, and technical oversight of mechanical systems supporting hyperscale data center construction. This position ensures HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, fire protection, and cooling infrastructure are engineered, installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and owner requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design and review mechanical systems supporting mission-critical facilities.
Coordinate HVAC, chilled water, condenser water, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Prepare and review mechanical engineering calculations and equipment specifications.
Review vendor submittals, shop drawings, and equipment data.
Coordinate mechanical room layouts and equipment clearances.
Support procurement by evaluating mechanical equipment.
Review Requests for Information (RFIs) and engineering changes.
Participate in interdisciplinary design and constructability reviews.
Provide field engineering support during construction.
Coordinate testing, balancing, and commissioning activities.
Verify compliance with ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, NFPA, and project specifications.
Assist with system startup and project turnover documentation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
Experience supporting commercial, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Data center, semiconductor, or healthcare construction experience.
Commissioning experience.
