About the Organization
Description
CONCORD ENGINEERING GROUP, INC. is searching for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager to work in our Healthcare/Science & Technology Department to execute planning, new construction and renovation projects for healthcare and life sciences facilities. Candidate must be accomplished in the design and project management for Acute and Ambulatory Care Health Facilities and both Academic and Corporate Research Facilities
POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidate is accomplished in responding to RFP's and presenting/interviewing for potential projects. In this position, you will provide, develop conceptual designs and perform peer review of final designs, staffing, resource planning and development of man-hour estimates, etc. for assigned projects. You will also serve as the primary point of contact for the client on your project(s).
The qualified and motivated successful candidate in this position, will have the opportunity to advance to the Director level position which includes bonus/profit sharing compensation.
While our Company headquarters are in Voorhees, NJ this position can work out of our NYC and/or Linwood NJ office. This position can also be hybrid or remote.
RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Manage and direct the production of specific project staff with the focus on the team's efficiency and goals for working to the project's scope, required level of detail and project budget on a project-by-project basis.
  • Design Mechanical / HVAC systems per client requirements and as directed by the Chief Engineer / Director. Primary trade responsibility will be as per the direction of the Chief Engineer / Director.

  • Conduct load calculations analysis and energy modeling using programs such as Conduct load calculations analysis and energy modeling using programs such as Conduct load calculations analysis and energy modeling using programs such as eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR and/or Carrier HAP.
  • Review projects regularly to ensure departmental standards and requirements are consistent with client requirements and the project budget. Provide design review of engineering documents to execute the QA/QC requirements per CEG methods and standards.
  • Perform engineering calculations, specifications, design, layout, and checking of mechanical and HVAC drawings and ensure the technical correctness of the drawings by using the applicable job, federal, state and local standards and codes.
  • Provide direction to less experienced Engineers in Training and draftspersons when working together with them on projects.
  • Perform site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings and provide field construction support and perform construction administration tasks, as required.
  • Monitor and assist in the training and development of subordinate engineers as directed by Chief Engineer / Director using the agreed upon CEG methods and standards.
  • Develop and/or assist in proposal development, client management and overall project execution.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Deep knowledge of multi-discipline engineering including electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fire protection for critical care healthcare projects.
  • Understanding of laboratory mechanical and electrical and plumbing design.
  • Must be proficient in the development of construction documents and have experience in detailed design for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and electrical/IT systems within healthcare.
  • Strong and demonstrated project management and communication skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable of local, state and national code requirements specifically NFPA and Joint Meeting, FGI and AHJ.
  • Must have experience/working knowledge of load analysis and energy modeling programs such as eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR and/or Carrier HAP.
  • Strong working knowledge and utilization of AutoCAD and Revit experience
  • Knowledgeable of the USGBC LEED Rating system and standards is a plus.
  • Must be a good time manager, comfortable with frequent deadlines and transitions.
  • Strong financial management skills and business acumen
  • Ability to plan and manage projects to achieve client demands and deadlines.
  • Ability to direct and manage the activities of internal and external resources.
  • Able to manage and direct workflow of others.
  • Able to prioritize as well as multi-task.
  • Excellent "in person" communication skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • At least 10 years of progressive engineering and managerial experience with a strong record of accomplishment in the design and project management for critical care facilities and laboratories.

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position starts at $115,000 - $175,000 with actual salary based on experience. This position will also offer a sign on bonus and a profit-sharing bonus.
