Description

Grace Design Studios is seeking an experienced Mechanical and/or Plumbing Designer to join our growing MEP team in the New Orleans office. The ideal candidate will have experience designing HVAC and/or plumbing systems for commercial, healthcare, educational, and industrial facilities while utilizing Autodesk Revit to produce high-quality construction documents. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects alongside experienced engineers, architects, and designers from schematic design through construction administration.

This position is available at a few select locations: Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Phoenix, Orlando, Fort Worth, and Dallas.

Responsibilities

  • Develop HVAC and/or plumbing construction documents using Autodesk Revit.
  • Applicants with experience in either HVAC design or plumbing/fire protection design are encouraged to apply.
  • Utilize Autodesk Revit to develop coordinated 3D building models and construction documents.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to prepare 2D details and supporting drawings as required.
  • Coordinate designs with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other project disciplines.
  • Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment selections, and plumbing sizing calculations, as applicable.
  • Produce coordinated, accurate, and code-compliant construction documents.
  • Conduct field investigations, site visits, and existing conditions assessments, including field verification for renovation and addition projects.
  • Assist with construction administration by reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and addressing field issues.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience designing HVAC and/or plumbing systems for commercial buildings.
  • Experience performing HVAC load calculations and/or plumbing sizing calculations.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit is required.
  • Familiarity with applicable mechanical, plumbing, and energy codes.
  • Experience coordinating MEP systems with other disciplines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality construction documents.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer Intern (EI) certification is a plus.
