Job description

Location: FabLogix โ€“ Duncan, SC

Schedule: 1st Shift. Full-time, shop-based schedule; overtime may be required based on production needs

Reports To: Shop Supervision / Fabrication Management

Job Summary: FabLogix is seeking an experienced Mechanical Skid Millwright to support the assembly, installation, alignment, and mechanical completion of fabricated skid packages and industrial piping systems. This position is responsible for reading drawings, setting and aligning equipment, installing mechanical components, and ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and to quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical experience in an industrial fabrication, skid assembly, piping, or construction environment and must be able to work safely in a fast-paced shop setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical skid packages according to drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Install, align, and secure pumps, motors, valves, supports, pipe spools, and related mechanical components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and equipment layout drawings.
  • Perform layout, measuring, leveling, alignment, and fit-up of mechanical equipment and components.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and measuring devices safely and properly.
  • Assist with setting equipment, bolting, torqueing, leveling, and mechanical adjustments.
  • Work closely with fitters, welders, QC, supervisors, and project teams to complete skid assemblies.
  • Inspect work for proper fit, alignment, clearance, and overall workmanship.
  • Identify and report material issues, drawing discrepancies, or safety concerns to supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow company safety policies, PPE requirements, and quality procedures at all times.
  • Assist with other fabrication or mechanical tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous millwright, mechanical assembly, skid assembly, pipe fabrication, or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, blueprints, and basic project specifications.
  • Experience using levels, squares, tape measures, dial indicators, laser alignment tools, or similar measuring tools.
  • Knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, flanges, pipe supports, and mechanical equipment installation.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, stand, and work in a fabrication shop environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good attendance, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Safety-first mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience assembling industrial skid packages.
  • Pipe fitting or structural fabrication experience.
  • Rigging experience.
  • Forklift, overhead crane, or aerial lift experience.
  • Experience with torque specifications, equipment alignment, or rotating equipment installation.
  • Welding knowledge is helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work on or around fabricated equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Must be able to work in a fabrication shop environment with noise, heat, dust, and moving equipment.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, hearing protection, and other job-specific PPE.

Work Environment

This position works in a fabrication shop environment. The employee will work around welding, grinding, cranes, forklifts, heavy materials, and industrial equipment. Safety procedures and PPE requirements must be followed at all times.
