This is an on-site position located in Goleta, CA.


Toyon Research Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team developing advanced aerospace products for critical national defense systems.


This position requires a strong background in mechanical analysis, design and drafting. The mechanical engineer will play an integral role throughout the design process; from conceptualization, detailed analysis and design, release of technical drawing packages, through the development of manufacturing processes and specifications.


Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills:

  • B.S. or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 or more years of experience designingstructures encountering challenging vibration, shock, and temperature environments
  • Experience with the various elements of mechanical analysis and design, including selection ofstructural materials, adhesive and fastener selection; AMSE Y14.5, other relevant ASME draftingstandards and modern Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) practices; familiarity withISO 9001/AS9100/MIL Specifications as they apply to flight structures
  • Ability to work in a team environment involving experts in diverse disciplines, incorporating inputsfrom electrical and aeronautical engineers to create functional and robust designs
  • Experienced using parametric CAD software to create models of assemblies, parts and drawings.
  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) tools for design collaboration and revision control preferred but not required

The annual pay range for the Mechanical Engineer position is $110,000 to $165,000.


The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidate's education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
