Position Overview
We are looking for a reliable, mechanically minded team member to support our Small Engine Repair Department. This role combines handson repair work with customer service, intake, and parts support. Youll help diagnose, repair, and maintain outdoor power equipment while ensuring customers receive clear communication and highquality service.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with diagnosing and repairing small engines, including lawn mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, generators, and other outdoor power equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance services such as tuneups, carburetor cleaning, fuel system service, blade sharpening, and filter replacement.
  • Support the mechanic by preparing equipment for repair, cleaning units, and organizing tools and parts.
  • Handle customer equipment intake: gather details, document issues, tag equipment, and enter work orders accurately.
  • Communicate repair timelines, estimates, and status updates to customers in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Look up parts, assist with ordering, and maintain organized parts storage.
  • Testrun equipment before and after repairs to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop area.
  • Follow all safety procedures and store policies.
  • Provide general customer service on the sales floor when needed.
Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in small engine repair (experience preferred but not required).
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Clear communication skills with customers and team members.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fastpaced environment.
