Adjunct Instructor Business - UT Southern
The University of Tennessee Southern, is a liberal arts, four-year university originally founded under the
name Martin College. In 2015, the Master of Business Administration offered its first classes. With a
historic campus located in Pulaski, Tennessee, in the beautiful hills of southern Middle Tennessee, The
University of Tennessee Southern is convenient to both Nashville (70 miles to the north) and Huntsville,
Alabama (40 miles to the south).
The D.W. Johnston School of Business at the University of Tennessee Southern has periodic openings for
part-time, adjunct faculty to teach various business courses. The position's principal responsibility is
teaching. Further, the position is responsible for demonstrating academic competence in the
appropriate subject matter area.
Areas of potential need: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, Management
Information Systems, Business Law, International Business, Business Analytics, Business Communication,
Supervision, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Organizational Behavior, Sport Management.
Requirements:
• Graduate courses: Doctoral Degree in the course discipline or closely related area.
• Undergraduate courses: MBA or Master's degree in qualifying discipline, or Master's degree
with 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of qualifying disciplines.
• Experience teaching at the university level preferred.
• Three letters of recommendation.
• Screening of applications begins immediately and will continue until the position is filled. A
complete application consists of a letter addressing the qualifications cited above; curriculum
vitae; official transcripts; and the names, addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses of
at least three professional references. Other documentation may be requested.
