Aide- EL
Location: Mayflower Mill Elementary School
6 hours/day for a total of 30 hours/week
$16.12/hour highly qualified or $15.62/hour not highly qualified
180 day (student calendar)
Requirements
Overview:
Under the direct supervision of the principal with guidance from the El Coordinator EL Coach, the EL tutor will work with EL students to meet instructional goals and objectives.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists and guides EL students to reinforce and strengthen language acquisition.
- Works with EL students individually and in small groups.
- Assists EL students as needed with organization, advocacy skills and school logistics.
- Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work with a diverse group of students.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Ability to understand and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees, and others.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and others.
- Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards:
- Works in standard office and school building environments.
Qualifications:
- Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of 48 hrs college level coursework or passing of the ParaPro examination
