Job description

We are looking for a Petroleum driver within a 50-mile radius of Indianapolis, IN to deliver petroleum-based products in bulk, transport them via Semi-Truck and Trailer, and unload products at various customer locations. The position has a flexible schedule of either a Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday.

Responsibilities:

  • Loading Petroleum products at refineries, ethanol plants, and bulk storage facilities.
  • Unloading Petroleum products at numerous customer locations such as gas stations, airports, refineries, and bulk storage facilities.
  • Ability to pump on and off petroleum and ethanol products using a Power Take Off.
  • Dropping, hooking and connecting trailers to semi-truck. This includes manually raising and lowering dolly legs on the trailer with up to 50 pounds of torque resistance.
  • Hooking up hoses and fittings to load and unload these Petroleum products safely and securely.
  • Checking customer tank levels prior to unloading to make sure tanks do not fill past 90% ullage.
  • Properly using vapor recovery hose at all loading and unloading locations.
  • Reaching, pulling and pushing Petroleum hoses weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Climbing up ladder on trailer to check tank and levels and make sure the load is secured.
  • The maximum weight the ladder can accommodate is 450 pounds with a 200 pound at the top of the trailer.
  • Climbing in and out of Semi-Truck using 3 points of contact.
  • Loading exactly what petroleum products, appropriate quantities, and correct suppliers on all loads per dispatch instructions.
  • General conversations in English with dispatchers, customers, and loaders to accommodate their needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. Stooping, bending, twisting, pulling, grasping
  • Climbing, Prolonged sitting

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A - CDL driver’s license with tanker and hazmat endorsement.
  • Approved medical card via DOT certified doctor, PA, Chiropractor
  • DOT 49 CFR 171-180 formerly HM-126 training
