Compile, analyze, document and draw tentative conclusions from experimental results. Confer with principal investigator to review work assignments and develop plans for research experiments and make minor modifications to existing laboratory procedures and techniques to meet the needs of the particular equipment as required. Review the laboratory methods manual, scientific journals, abstracts and other literature for information applicable to research experiments.Job Description:

Job Duties

  • Maintain IRB compliance, including protocol amendments, progress reports, and regulatory submissions.

  • Oversee participant recruitment, screening, and informed consent processes.

  • Coordinate study enrollment and follow-up visits while maintaining compliance with IRB-approved protocols.

  • Organize follow-up visits and scheduling research activities for participants.

  • Ensure proper handling of clinical and imaging data, including data entry, maintenance, and quality assurance.

  • Perform bedside cognitive tests, such as the MoCA and CRS-R.

  • Assist with fMRI preprocessing, including field map corrections, motion correction, and signal processing.

  • Organize and maintain neuroimaging datasets (BIDS format) and support multiband BOLD fMRI analysis.

  • Implement and troubleshoot MATLAB, Python, and Bash scripts for neuroimaging pipelines (e.g., FreeSurfer, FSL, AFNI, CBIG).

  • Collect data through Epic for assistance with retrospective and prospective clinical studies in neuro intensive care, ICH, SAH, and acute ischemic stroke.

  • Prepare figures, tables, and reports for publications, grant submissions, and clinical presentations.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
