Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacy Technician, you will help pharmacists at St. Joseph's Medical Center efficiently prepare and distribute medications, maintain inventory, and manage patient records so they can provide exceptional and safe patient care.

Every day you will accurately fill physician orders, prepare IV admixtures, and deliver medications to patient care areas. You will be expected to maintain a neat work environment, ensure proper billing procedures, and diligently support the overall operations of the Pharmacy Department.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate competence in various pharmacy tasks, possess strong mathematical and algebraic calculation skills, have a working knowledge of aseptic technique for sterile product preparation, and be a Registered Pharmacy Technician in California (or equivalent).

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Recent (within two years) prior experience (minimum 6 months) in a Pharmacy preparing sterile I.V. admixture.
  • Must have a total of at least three (3) years experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • CA Pharmacy Technician from the CA Board of Pharmacy is required.
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program is required.
  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Able to perform basic mathematical and algebraic calculations.
  • Familiar with computers and knowledge of aseptic technique.
  • Ability to prepare sterile IV products.

Preferred:

  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.
