If you love working in a fast paced Children's Hospital serving critical infants and children this is the place for you. The Formula Technician program is 7 days per week to meet the needs of fortifying formula or breastmilk for the infant's in Children's Hospital. This position requires attention to detail, excellent math skills for completing calculations and excellent communication skills with all team members.
Shifts: 9:00am-5:00pm, Every other Weekend and Every other Holiday Required. (Shifts may run later depending on workload)

Summary

Performs and monitors a variety of duties involved with calculating, preparing, delivering and restocking the infant and adult tube feedings for patients. Calculates, prepares and delivers formulas.

Job Description

Demonstrates familiarity with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines as it pertains to ordering, storing, preparing and delivering infant formulas and adult tube feedings for patients. Requisitions formula supplies in a timely manner after receiving computer orders and sending appropriate fax orders. Serves as a resource for infant and adult formulas. Demonstrates strong math skills, accurately calculating the formulas. Exhibits problem-solving skills. Demonstrates excellent customer services skills continuously. Displays listening skills and effectively communicates with co-workers, supervisors and nursing staff. Establishes effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and nursing staff. Evaluates and maintains quality control standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Possesses ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions. Ability to perform basic math. Depending upon location applying for, a minimum of two years experience in food service preferred. Previous leadership experience preferred. On-the-job training will be provided. Depending on location, may be required to complete Diet Therapy Class and pass Diet Therapy exams.
