Job description

POSITION: Mathematics Teacher 

SCHOOL: Middle School

Responsibilities will include:

  • Teach middle school mathematics courses (grades 6-8) in alignment with district curriculum and Connecticut standards
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons that promote mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, critical thinking, and real-world application of mathematical concepts
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, technology, and assessment practices to support student learning and achievement
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and families
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and collaboration

Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut Certification: 029 Mathematics (Grades 712 / Grades 4-12 preferred)  or NY equivalent to work toward certification reciprocity.
  • Strong knowledge of middle school mathematics curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and student-centered learning environment
