Job Description

Title: ACCOUNTABILITY, TESTING, AND MATH ASSISTANT

Location: Central Services & Central Services Annex

Reports to: Director of Accountability &  Math 

Terms of Employment: 12 Months

Starting Salary and/or Grade: Salary Grade 57 ($2,801.25 - $3,709.75)

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board and local policy on evaluation of personnel

  1. Qualifications
    • High School Diploma and experience in an office environment required; or an Associate's Degree (preferred)
  2. Job Responsibilities
    • Supports the Director of Accountability & Math in the local administration, reporting, and interpretation of tests and other accountability measures
    • Supports School Test Coordinators at the school level in the administration and coordination of district and state testing programs
    • Maintains secure testing materials, confidential student information, and sensitive school and district accountability data
    • Attends Regional and State training sessions with the DTC, as needed
    • Coordinates with School Test Coordinators and other school- and district-level personnel to support testing operations and accountability processes
    • Manages departmental communications and calendar scheduling
    • Travels to facilities within the district to deliver secure materials, as needed
    • Reads, understands, and adheres to the NC Testing Code of Ethics and the District Test Plan at all times
    • Operates office equipment, including copier, scanner, printers, and test scanners
    • Assists with the management of textbook inventory and filling orders
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Accountability & Math
  3. Required Skills and Competencies
    • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace application
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information
    • Demonstrate strong attention to detail
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with school and district personnel
    • Ability to meet deadlines
    • Ability to interpret and follow testing procedures and protocols
    • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds, occasionally
