Note: This is a continuous recruitment requisition. We are always looking for talented RNs to join our Labor and Delivery team at Hoag Newport Beach. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis for openings across multiple shifts and statuses as needed.

The Sue & Bill Gross Women's Pavilion at Hoag Newport Beach is home to the county's largest and most respected maternal child services program, with nearly 200,000 babies born to date. Our renowned maternal child services program remains focused on delivering family-centered care through its experienced obstetrical team, maternal-fetal medicine specialists and certified nursing staff. This exceptional birthing center was specifically designed to create a first-class experience for all patients and their families. Included in the Women's Pavilion at Hoag Hospital Newport Beach is an advanced fetal diagnostic testing unit; a 14-bed antepartum unit; 18 fully equipped labor, delivery, and recovery suites; and a state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) providing specialized, around-the-clock care for infants born prematurely, or with complications.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse โ€“ Maternal Child Health role provides direct patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act for assigned patients in maternal child departments including Perinatology, LDR, Mother/Baby, LDRP and NICU. The nurse collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of safe, timely and appropriate quality patient care. This includes providing physical assessments, nursing interventions, pain management, medication administrations, specimen collection, meeting nutritional and emotional needs, and education and discharge needs of the patients assigned. Utilizes the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet patient care needs. Evaluates and adjusts the nursing care process as necessary with consultation as needed and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical/legal/medical dilemma decisions. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule & Work Expectations

  • Positions currently available: Full Time, 3rd Shift (Nights)
  • Hours/Pay Period: 72 (Full Time)
  • Shift Length: 12-hour shifts (Night Shift: 7:00PM - 7:30AM)

Salary Range

  • Level I: $48.35 - $79.07/ hourly
  • Level II: $50.75 - $82.96/ hourly
  • Level III: $55.97 - $87.17/ hourly
  • Level IV: $58.77 - $91.51/ hourly
Qualifications

Level I

  • BSN required or BSN program started within one year of hire date and attained within two years of starting the BSN program
  • 6 months of experience as labor and delivery RN required

Level II

  • BSN required
  • 1 year of experience as labor and delivery RN required

Level III

  • BSN required
  • National certification is required
  • 3 years of experience as labor and delivery RN required

Level IV

  • MSN required
  • National Certification is required
  • 4 years of experience as labor and delivery RN required
